Expected weather impact on water resources during the coming Month of August 2022 During August the amount and distribution of rainfall increased over many Kiremt rain-benefiting catchments. Due to this these occurrences of flash floods and overflow of rivers frequently happen during August. Accordingly, most of Abay, Tekeze, Baro Akobo, Omogibe, Awash, Afardenakil, upper & middle Riftvalley & upper Wabishebele, catchments will be expected to have above-normal moisture conditions. And also in aforementioned places can be expect heavy fall within a day and it causes Fash flood, Flood and landslide. In addition to this upper Genaledawa, Lower Omogibe, and middle Rift valley, catchment will be expected to get normal moisture conditions. Across Ogaden and lower Wabishebele catchments will be received some amount of rainfall. The above desired Excessive moisture across the catchments will have the benefit of increasing the amount of water resource; however, we will give advice to all concerned bodies to manage the occurrence of Excessive moisture that may cause an unexpected negative impact.
