4. Expected weather impact on water resource during the coming month of September, 2021 In the coming month of September, 2021 Better moisture bring meteorological phenomenon gradually shifting towards north-western, western and central parts of the country. According to this the performance of moisture will be better condition across the above mentioned river basins. In line with this across most part of Abay, Tekeze, BaroAkobo, Awash, upper and middle Omogibe, Rift valley and Upper high ground of GenaleDawa catchments will be expected very wet to excessive moisture condition. In addition, lower awash, some parts of upper and middle Wabishebele, GenaleDawa, middle and lower Omogibe as well as upper Afardenakel catchments will be anticipated humid to wet moisture condition. Due to excessive moisture: flash flood, river flood and landslides are expected especially over most flood prone areas and rugged places of the basins. Due to this around water Dams, reservoirs and flooded plane areas should take continuous awareness to protect the adverse effect. Heavy fall is expected over most Kiremt benefiting catchments. The soil and ground water get saturated especially over kiremt benefiting catchments. Therefore, Authorities and the public in these areas are advised to take appropriate measures to protect lives and livelihoods. Reservoir and dams found in south and south-eastern high ground of the Basins will have less probability to capture water in the coming Bega, 2021 season. Sectors involving water development and early warning activities should be aware and prepared to manage and utilize this seasonal water resource properly.
