During the previous Belg season, the seasonal rain onset of the rainy season and the presence of dry days and the lack of moisture has negatively affected agricultural activities and watersheds in areas that benefit from the Belg rains. As a result, it has negatively affected pastoralist and semi-pastoralist parts of the country as well as other economic sectors. In general, this year's Kiremt is expected to have enough moisture in most of the rain-fed areas; the rains are expected to have a better effect in different parts of the country and there is no risk of drought.
