Mid bega season_2019-2020

Mid-Season Print PDF

During the mid season months of October and November 2019, there was enhanced rain across much of the country. Accordingly, except few pocket places that registered below the average, much of the country had normal to Above normal rainfall activity.

In the remaining two months (December and January), the SST over the Pacific Ocean is anticipated to be under Enso-neutral (~70% chance) and a positive IOD over the Indian Ocean. In general, dry and sunny weather will continue across much of the country. As a result, the night time and early morning cold air may increase over some places. However, light to moderate unseasonal rain is likely across some places of the northern half. Besides, dominantly Near-normal rainfall activity is expected to prevail over South-western, Southern and Southeastern Ethiopia.
