During the previous Kiremt months, regional and global features that contribute to the seasonal rain strengthened and expansion. As a result, the seasonal rain benefiting areas of the country to have near normal rainfall. In the previous Kiremt the onset was normal over most parts of the country, but in the case of cessation over central and eastern parts of the country showed delay for a few days.

In the upcoming Bega season are likely to be dominated by near normal rainfall activity across Amhara, Tigray, Afar, Benzana-Gumuzen as well as Central and eastern Oromia. By contrast southern half, Benisengal-Gumuz, West Oromi, Gambela including the South Nations and Peoples are anticipated to normal to below normal rainfall activity. Furthermore, southern half of Somali and South Oromia areas are mostly expected to below normal rainfall.
