In the preceding Belg 2024, in the south and southeast, which are the main rainy seasons in Belg, as well, Belg is the second rainy season for the southwest, central, eastern and northeastern parts of the country had received normal to above normal rains in many places. In addition, they had normal and above normal rain distribution in the western and northwestern areas of the country. Heavy rainfall was recorded at many places along with occasional cloud cover. In the upcoming Kiremt 2024 season, Above Normal rainfall is expected over Central and South Tigray, Afar, East Amhara, northern Somali and eastern portions of the country. Moreover, western Tigray, west Amhara, Benishagulgumuz, west Oromiya, Gambella and South Western regions of Ethiopia will dominantly receive above normal rainfall As well, Central and south-western portions of the country will dominantly receive normal to above normal rainfall. The expected LA NINA and positive IOD will benefit the south and southeastern portions of the country. They will get rainfall in the coming August and September months.  Back to List |
